Overview

By utilizing High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology for automotive use, it is possible to acquire high quality information with little blowout or blackout, even in situations where there is high contrast, such as backlit conditions or tunnel entrances and exits.

Overview

Technical Features

Combination of a signal from two types of pixel with different characteristics

One pixel is equipped with both a “high sensitivity pixel that brightly projects a dark subject” and a “pixel that does not easily become saturated, even with bright subjects”. The combination of a signal from those two pixels has made it possible to obtain a signal with a wide dynamic range, so that even if the scene has high contrast, such as backlit conditions or tunnel entrances and exits in the daytime, there is no loss of blackout in the dark parts and no blowout in the bright parts. The two pixels obtain the image at the same time, so there is no time lag when the signal is combined and it is possible to obtain a signal that is suitable for object detection and recognition.
