Overview
ELTRES™ is an LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) wireless communication standard that can be used in IoT networks, developed by combining various technologies cultivated by Sony.
IoT systems are configured to transmit information obtained from the various sensors to cloud servers via wireless communication, store and process data in the cloud, and finally display the results on users' smartphones and tablets. LPWA network technologies are wireless communication technologies that only transmit a small amount of data but consume low power and can be used over a wide area.
Among the many performance requirements for the wireless portion of IoT systems, ELTRES was developed with particular emphasis on long-distance stable communication, reception even while moving at high-speeds, and low power consumption.
